Jumpin on the GF Bandwagon

After much consideration and research I have decided to go gluten free.

My joints have been giving me some aches and I feel terribly fatigued during the day.

These could be symptoms of gluten intolerence.

Or I just may need to lose weight and get more sleep!

Who knows? But I am going to give it a try.

 

I made a trip to the grocery store this morning and gathered up a few supplies.

PHEW!!!

Being GF is expensive.

 

A couple of  6 inch frozen pizza shells -- 5.99

Zaza needs her zas.

I have found a recipe for GF banana bread which I will give a go this weekend.

If it turns out I may try my hand at making my own baking mix.

 

From my research it should take about 60 days for me to see any big difference.

If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear.

Spring Yet?

A trip to the grocery store on Monday made me feel it was!

 

Altho my trip home and made me feel --- um NO!

  
And HB's face shovelling and snow blowing definately made me think spring is quite a way away.

The ladies have the right idea.

 

 

Addy will just keep her bum warm on the register.

 

Lucky makes sure she is close enough to the kitchen she won't have to run too far for her supper.

 

Today is Wednesday and it is supposed to be 10C (50F) and rainy here.

Of course this is a fluke and we are back to the minuses later this week.

Sunday in CP

Had a visit from the newlyweds Sunday.

We went for a wee walk down to the river.

Did some birdwatching.

I always love passing this house with the bottles glistening in the window.

The river is always open because of the movement of the Falls.

Sidenote:: Carleton Place was originally called Morphy's Falls

Christmas and Camrose

So Christmas has come and gone.

Is it really almost the end of January?

It was a crazy Christmas.

Not sure I liked it too much.

One of my girls is 2000 miles away in Alberta with my g kids and

my newly married girl wanted to spend the morning with her hubby (GO figure?)

HB and I had a lovely morning having breakfast in bed, opening our gifts, playing with the cats, skyping with the g kids, and watching some Christmas movies.

 

 

Then it was time to get ready to go to Siobhan and Will's for dinner.

 

 

Don't get me wrong. It was an enjoyable day just different.

We stayed overnight and came home the next afternoon.

HB is the organizer/coordinator of our local Christmas bird count so off he went bright and early on the 27th.

 

 

I stayed home this year and did the backyard count along with de Christmasing the house and organising for going away.

Yup we left on the 30th for two weeks in Alberta.

This time we flew.

Now you know why we flew this time!

 

Arrived in Camrose around lunch time.

My heart melted as we came in the door and we got two huge smiles from Miles and Riley.

 

 

Have I mentioned that I love these two?

 I LOVE THESE TWO!

These are the little vests that I knitted for them.

 

 

We had another Christmas, did lots of reading, building, racing cars, colouring, cuddling.

Hello 2013

I am finally getting a chance to start blogging again.

What an intense couple of months this has been.

I won't bombard you all with everything at once.

I plan on doing it on the installment plan.

First and foremost -- daughter Siobhan's wedding!

Just a few shots of the day.

It was sunny and a wee bit nippy but everyone looked mahvelous and a fun time was had by all!!
